Feedback and Me

This Tuesday, I was at office and our founder told us that there will be a new thing coming up for us as a support team. Feedback! A feedback option to the user after every reply sent by us to the user query. I was happy, but there was sense of worry as well. Feedback or the solicitation of feedback scares the hell out of me. I like to think that I am doing a great job providing services to the ERPNext customers around the world, but that is only my thoughts. I also need to get samples from those I work with.

As a part customer support team we get feedback. Every feedback is important and needs to taken in a positive manner. But there are times when, we are trying to help the customer but due to unavoidable reasons it doesn’t come across as we want it to be and hence a feedback comes which leaves a negative impression, and a negative feedback for us.

Whichever it is positive or negative, feedback is a powerful tool to increase productivity or a sense of responsibility. When you strengths are noticed and said you are good at doing this, it is a constructive feedback which can boost you to do your best. Personally when I get a positive feedback, I try to do more of it. When I did my first mock up and got positive feedback, I have done more of them and that too on my own. For me a negative feedback or not so good comment is also very important. I will do anything to convert that not so good into better and finally the best. Though it is not done overnight but I do it. My demo skills are an example of the outcome of negative feedback.

The power of feedback, either positive or negative, can change our direction and open our eyes to what people really think or care about. Of course, when critiquing your own feedback, you must always take away the extremely negative ones and the overly positive ones. Getting feedback from all of our clients, not just our points of contact, but everyone with whom our business deals with, will help us take our work to new levels and help us understand what is really to be done to improve the product along with a awesome customer feedback.
